Reflections on Spring and Quiet Beginnings

Life lately has been about patience, and a deepening into the truth of what it means to live free.

To create something truly one’s own—to execute dominion over one’s own energy and attention—sometimes feels like a full time job, a never-ending test of vigilance and awareness.

Adjusting to life in a still-new place, isolation and blossoming friendships, slow-cooker meals and hours at work, in meditation, and in thought,

Sunsets and books and the beginnings of a chicken coop. Spring in verdant drip. Fireflies out! Opportunities and watching seeds poke their heads out of the darkness, noticing in myself an anxiousness for the fruit.

The tessellation of space and time in service of relationships, money, peace, and vitality. A balancing of the will and its vanity with beauty recognized in what is

Honest, simple, and truly valuable.

A string of inhales and exhales, each breath a tether to time and growth and change. A march!

And an ushering in of desires once imagined and now condensating slowly like dew on a blade of grass.
